The four pillars of our approach

Early and foundational
learning

Supporting quality learning across literacy, numeracy, socio-emotional and physical development, with continuity from early childhood into the early grades.

Data and measurement

Strengthening child development tracking, education data systems, and the use of evidence to inform policy and investment decisions.

Evidence and advocacy

Learning what works and supporting more informed, targeted and coordinated investment in early and foundational learning.

Partnerships and systemic impact

Connecting governments, communities, implementing partners and funders across the wider ecosystem, aligning efforts and reducing fragmentation.

Our strategy

How we deliver

We support and strengthen existing government systems, working with and through them.

By collaborating with other funders, we can ensure that resources are pooled for greater efficiency and impact.

Our aim is to balance support for proven programmes with exploring new, innovative approaches, continuing to support digital, technology-driven solutions.

Experience and
commitment

We have been working in education in at least five of our current countries of implementation for thirteen years, building lasting relationships with governments, communities, and partners along the way.

Our commitment is long-standing. Our first early learning project began in 2010, and a steady focus on the years that matter most has shaped our work ever since.

Across those years, our work has grown from supporting individual children through education, to strengthening early learning systems alongside governments, communities, and partners.

That experience shapes how we work today: investing in evidence-based approaches, partnering with governments, and pooling resources with other funders to extend impact.
